For undergraduate students, the completed course of study leads to the Bachelor
of Arts degree in History of Art and Visual Culture. The History
of Art and Visual Culture Department is currently in the final stages of developing a Ph.D. program in Visual Culture.
About the Undergraduate Major
Prospective majors must complete two of the lower-division 10-series
courses in history of art and visual culture before declaring
the major. All students considering this major should consult
with a member of the faculty as soon as possible. Students must
attend one of the quarterly declaration of major meetings with the department adviser to finalize the Proposed Study
Plan and Declaration of Major/Minor petition form.
